Restructuring and extension of a shelter for teenagers and children in need.
The project was the subject of proximity work and programming with the users to optimize each space with a limited budget. Site supervision was constant for delivery on time with a shifting operation while the site was partially occupied.
Abandoning the former dorms for 4 to 6 people, the project offers bedrooms for one or two people. Collective showers are replaced with private washrooms. The common areas have been redesigned in a functional and user-friendly way in the heart of the residents living spaces.
With a constant number of children and adolescents and administration offices repatriated on site, the main building was the subject of an extension on the ground floor (reception desk) and the first floor (communal space for adolescents).
The project enhances existing spaces (nice town house with French ceilings, lime plaster, woodwork colours ...) and favors a choice of durable materials.
